MPLScon Expands Focus, Changes Name and Venue

Centerville MA (PRWeb) January 11, 2007 -- The long time industry leading technology conference based in New York City, MPLScon, is expanding the conference focus to stay at the forefront of the telecommunication and IP network transformation. Beginning in 2007, MPLScon will be renamed FutureNet: MPLS, VPLS and Beyond.

In addition to the name change, the event will be moving to a larger venue, the Grand Hyatt Hotel, in mid-town New York City. This venue change allows the event to expand the number of attendees and sponsors who can participate. For the past several years, MPLScon had to limit the number of participates because of the physical limitations of the hotel property. The new location will allow several companies that have been on a wait list to participate now.

Although the location and name are changing, there will be plenty of continuity, especially concerning the quality of the conference program. Long time (and the only conference director for MPLScon) Irwin Lazar, a Principal Analyst & Program Director, Convergence & Collaboration at Nemertes Research and his high profile advisory board will continue to develop the cutting edge conference program.

According to Lazar, "The idea is to expand the target of the conference and the potential audience by making MPLScon more of a WAN services event covering all the varying services for connecting sites to one another and to examine how they are evolving. MPLS is a pretty mature technology now, and FutureNet will include MPLS but also focus on how network services are transforming plus address newer emerging technologies. This event will uncover the next generation of services and networks."
